La próxima semana es uno de los fashion shows que mas expectativa ha creado en lo que va del año. El diseñador Maximiliano Reyes ha preparado una colección que todos deseamos ver. Tuve una pequeña conversación con el hace unos días acerca de todo lo que enmarca su evento, yo tenia tantas preguntas y el como siempre muy atento y cálido respondió cada una, y hoy les traigo todas las respuestas que dio.
Next week will be featured a fashion show that have created a lot of expectation this year. The designer Maximiliano Reyes has prepared a collection we all want to see. I had a little conversation with him a few days ago about his event, I had so many questions and as always he very attentive and kind answered each one and today I bring you all the answers he gave me...
Max, como te sientes al saber que la fecha del día en que todos podremos admirar tu talentoso trabajo se acerca? / Max, how do you feel knowing that the date of the day when we can all admire your work is so close?
Bueno, en realidad bastante nervioso,
sobre todo porque estamos tratando de hacer algo muy bonito para ayudar a una
buena causa.
Well,
actually quite nervous, mostly because we're trying to do something very nice
to help a good cause.
Si, todos estamos al tanto que lo que estas preparando es mas
que un fashion show, como diseñador y guatemalteco que causa es la que apoyaras
con este proyecto? / Yes, we all are aware that what you're preparing is
more than just a fashion show, as a guatemalan designer what cause will you be
supporting with this project?
Apoyaremos a un reconocido Hogar de niños con VIH (SIDA),
donando recursos obtenidos en el showroom a realizarse 3 dias antes del
desfile, el dia del desfile y una recoleccion de viveres que organizamos junto
a empresas y grupos educativos los cuales seran entregados el dia viernes 11 ,
junto con la visita de Naima al Hogar. / We'll support a recognized home
of children with HVI, donating proceeds to be held in the showroom 3 days
before the parade, the day of the parade and a recollection of food we
organized with some companies and educational groups which will be delivered
the on Friday, along with Naima visit.
Yo creo que todo guatemalteco siempre tiene el sueño de
ayudar, ya que nuestro país tiene áreas muy necesitadas, como te sientes que a
tu corta edad ya puedes hacer esto y hacerlo a través de tu pasión que es
diseñar... / I believe that every guatemalans has the dream to help,
because our country has areas with high need, how do you feel that at your
young age you can do this and do it through your passion wich is to design...
Me siento muy bien, siento que a mi edad puedo crecer mucho,
aprender cada dia y siempre brindar a través de mi trabajo, lo mejor de esto es
que podemos conocer a muchas personas lo cual abre puertas para generar ayuda,
generar conciencia y crear proyectos a beneficio de jóvenes y niños que al
igual que yo tienen sueños y vienen de comunidades en las cuales no se cuenta
con ciertos lujos o comodidades, asi como accesos a desarrollar sus capacidades.
I feel great, I feel that at my age I´ve grow a lot,
learn every day and always give that through my work, the best of this is that
you can know many people which opens doors to support, raise awareness and
create projects for the benefit of young people and childrens that come from communities where there is no luxuries or even access to develop their skills.
OK! Ahora hablemos de una de las características mas fuertes
de este show, ya que una de tus modelos es una top... / OK! Now let's talk about one of the strongest features of
this show, because one of your crew is a top model...
Si, Naima tiene una basta experiencia lo cual me pone
nervioso, se que debo dar lo mejor y de hecho aun me cuesta creer que voy a
vestir a una Top Model para mi desfile y que en si desfilara mis prendas, es un
sueño, aca entre nos me identifico mucho con ella por muchas cosas personales y
razones con las cuales he crecido. Naima es también una escritora publicada con
su libro Model Behavior y Vocalista de una Banda Alternativa llamada Galaxy Of
Tar, eso la hace mantener siempre una actitud sumamente profesional, ella esta
muy feliz y entusiasmada de estar aca, en el desfile contaremos con otras
invitadas sorpresa muy conocidas por el medio de la moda guatemalteca y eso
también me pone muy nervioso pero feliz.
Yes, Naima has a huge experience which makes me feel
nervous to give my best, in fact I still can't believe I'm going to dress a Top
Model for my runway and she'll be wearing my clothes, is a dream, here between
us, I identify myself with her for many reasons and personal things with which
I grew up. Naima is also a published author with her book Model Behavior and
vocalist of an alternative band called Galaxy Of Tar, that makes her always
maintain a very professional attitude, she's very happy and excited to be here,
in the fashion show we'll have other surprise, guests well known in the
guatemalan fashion and that also makes me very nervous but I'm happy.

cuanto a la ropa, que es lo que caracteriza a tu nueva colección? / Let´s talk
about the clothes, what characterizes your new collection?
Es bastante diferente a lo que creo esperan de mi, la gente
imagina la colección oscura, bastante extravagante, un poco fuera de la
realidad, no hice vestidos de espectáculo o show, esta vez es un trabajo
bastante minimalista, hemos bordado alrededor de 8 mil piedras, hemos hecho
chaquetas, pantalones, faldas incluso por primera vez trabajamos con piel
sintética, claro todo esto le dejamos un toque como siempre de brillo a través
de lentejuelas, toques de encajes y cortes nunca antes realizados por mi. Es una
colección bastante comercial pero bajo un sello de Alta Costura, para manejar
los acabados de cada prenda y calidad máxima en cada costura fuimos 5 personas
las encargadas, 2 patronistas y 3 bordadoras, las prendas ante un ojo no
conocedor de moda podrían resultar bastante básicas y simples, pero el ojo en
el detalle y la tela son sumamente exquisitos y me enamore de ellos.
Is quite different to what I think people expect from me, people imagine a dark collection, extravagant, out of reality, I won't have dresses just for the show, this time is a minimal work, we have embroidery around 8000 stones, we have jackets, pants, skirts, is the first we work with synthetic leather, of course we always put a touch of sequins to shine through, touches of lace and cuts I´ve never made. It's a very commercial collection but under a Couture seal, to handle each garment finishes and high quality in each seam were 5 people in charge, 2 pattern makers and 3 embroidery, for a not fashion expert eye the garments might look quite basic and simple, but under a good eye the detail and fabric are extremely exquisite and I fell in love with them.

colección...? / How do you personally identify yourself with your new collection...?
Me identifico como un diseñador más maduro que ha aprendido de sus errores en el pasado, al comienzo como todo en esta vida era difícil cumplir con los acabados de las prendas o manejar la mejor calidad de costura posible, en este momento la colección al igual que yo somos más simples, mas plenos, creo que ambos estamos en paz… En lo que más me siento identificado es en los colores, creo que cada color de cada una de las etapas es bastante renuente a los sentimientos que he aprendido ahora a controlar, como mencione en mi inspiración, esta colección atraviesa los Infiernos de Dante hasta llegar a el momento de mayor plenitud y serenidad, bajo una tendencia mundial esto se trasladaría a algo sumamente sencillo y chic, menos es mas y Maximiliano ha aprendido a dar menos pero en mejor calidad sin perder la inspiración.
I see myself as a more mature designer who has learned from his mistakes in the past, at the beginning as everything in this life it was difficult to get the finished garments or handle the most quality possible of the seam, at this time the collection and me are simpler, more full, I think both are at peace... I can identify more myself in the colors, I think every color of each stage is quite reluctant to feelings I've learned now to control, as I mentioned in my inspiration, this collection of Dante through Hell until at the peak of fullness and serenity under a global trend that would move to something very simple and chic, less is more and Maximilian has learned to give less but better quality without losing the inspiration.

Lo que sigue para Max es trabajar, aprender, sonreir y una sorpresa muy bonita, este será el ultimo desfile de Max y creo pasara mucho tiempo en que vuelva a hacer uno. Necesito Paz, descanso y enfocarme en la distribución de mis accesorios y piezas los cuales estarán a la venta en una reconocida Tienda que se inaugurara en Guatemala. Después de esto esperar y seguir trabajando para abrirme camino por mi cuenta y salir siempre adelante.
What's next for Max is to work, learn, smile and a very nice surprise, this will be the last fashion show by Max and I think it will pass a lot of time to re-make one. I need peace, rest and focus on the distribution of my accessories and garments which will be sold on a future recognized store in Guatemala. After this, I´ll wait and keep working to make my way on my own and always go on.
Como verán Max es una persona muy abierta, yo creo mucho en su trabajo, el día esta muy cerca y en este blog le deseamos mucho éxito, nos ha encantado tenerlo aquí por segunda vez, estoy segura que se paseara por acá en un futuro, porque es una plataforma que lo apoya y esta 100% con él en esta nueva etapa de su joven carrera, así que no se pierdan este evento, ya sea en persona o mediante los medios de comunicación ya que creo que sera un evento que marcara una pauta importante en el espacio de moda en Guatemala.
As you can see Max is a very open person, I believe in his work, the date is very close and this blog wish him all the success, we love to have him here for the second time, I'm sure he´ll be here again in a future, because this is a platform that supports his work 100% in this new stage of his young career, so don't miss this event, in person or through media and I think it will be an event that will mark an important guideline in Guatemala's fashion space.
