A great morning

Hola, hoy les contare de una increíble mañana que tuve ayer, ya les he contado que estoy hospedando un misionero, bueno no es porque vino de turista, vino a una misión, a un trabajo, y me alegra poder tener el tiempo de poder colaborar con estos grupos que han venido de tan lejos para sembrar algo muy bueno en nuestro país. Nuestro país no solo necesita de donaciones sino también de personas que vengan a sembrar la semilla de la fé, y eso requiere de grandes esfuerzos de todo tipo, humanos, económicos, de tiempo, en fin es un gran trabajo... Yo estoy tan contenta de poder colaborar con mi tiempo. Y las actividades mas o menos se desarrollan así: vamos a varios colegios de la ciudad y hablamos a los jovenes acerca de algún valor, este año es la honestidad, el año pasado fue acerca de mantenerte limpio en el índole sexual y el año antepasado fue una platica para no participar en la violencia, son platicas tan básicas pero de los que se saca mucho. El objetivo es que ellos inicien una relación con Jesucristo y que ellos puedan saber que solo Él puede ayudar a vivir vidas rectas, e incentivarlos a leer la Biblia, hacemos juegos, preguntas, escuchamos preguntas y las contestamos. Tenemos la copañia de extraordinarios personas como Gerald, que viene de Texas y quien tiene mucho conocimiento bíblico así que puede contestar CUALQUIER duda. 

Hello, today I´ll tell you about the great morning I had yesterday, I've already told you I've been hosting a missionary, well he's not here as a tourist, he's here with a mission, to work, and I'm glad I can collaborate with these groups that came from so far to plant something very good in our country. Our country does not only need money donations but also people who come to plant the seed of faith, and this requires huge efforts, of all kind, humans, financial, of time, is a huge work... I'm so glad I can collaborate with my time. And activities develops pretty much like this: we go to several schools here in the city and we talk to the adolescents about a value, this year is the honesty, last year was a value of keep ourselves clean in sexual relationships, and the year before the value was something about don't participate in violence, are basic talks but they can learn so much. The object is they can start a relation with Jesus Christ so they can know that only him can help them to live right lives, and encourage them to read the Bible, we play, make questions, listen their questions and answer them. We have the company of extraordinary people as Gerald, who came from Texas and who have so much biblical knowledge so he can answer EVERY doubt.  

Debo andar muy cómoda en estas actividades así que un vestido ligero y flats han sido la opción perfecta. Esta pequeña bolsa ha sido muy buena, me cabe todo en una muy pequeña porción de bolsa.

I have to dress very comfy for all these activities so a light dress and flats was the perfect option. This little bag has been so good, I can put all my things in this very small bag.

Y aquí estoy yo, traduciendo la enseñanza de Gerald, poniendo mucha atención para no alterar la enseñanza, y viéndome muy pequeñita al lado de estos altísimos norteamericanos, soy como una pulga jajaja...

And here I am, translating Gerald teaching, putting all my attention to not alter the teach, seeing very small next to these towering American, I'm like a flea lol ...

De los tres años que he acompañado a estas campañas al ministerio de Good News in Action este en particular ha sido mi grupo de estudiantes favorito, tan atentos y tomando con gran madurez y seriedad la desicion de vivir una vida recta. A la vez, sentada con estos jóvenes en su misma clase me veo a mi misma a esa edad, con tantas confusiones existenciales, me hubiera servido de mucho que alguien me hablara de Jesús, mi vida no hubiese sido tan espiritualmente solitaria.

Of all these three years that I've assisted to these campaigns of Good News in Action ministries this has been my favorite group of students, paying attention and taking with maturity and seriousness the decision to live right lives. At the same time, sitting with these young people in the same class, I see myself at that age, with so many existential confusiones, I wish someone would tell me about Jesus, my life had not been so spiritually lonely.

Hoy nos vamos a otro centro escolar, espero podamos encontrar otros jóvenes tan abiertos como este grupo... Feliz miércoles!!!

guirnalda para pastel

Hace meses que hice un pequeño pastelito para mi hijita por su cumpleaños, le puse una pequeñita guirnalda para adornarlo, una que yo realice en casa en menos de 5 minutos. Muchas me han preguntado como y pues hoy les mostrare como la hice, dos pasos muy simples.
Months ago I made a little cake for my daughter for her birthday, I put on it a little garland for garnish, I made it at home in less than five minutes. Lots of you have asked me how I did it so today I´m gonna show you how in two very simple steps.

Tome unos palillos largos, hilo grueso y figuras en algun papel que usted guste, yo hice varios círculos en papel para scrapbook.
Took long sticks, thick yarn and figures of any kind of paper you like, I made several circles in scrapbook paper.

1. Tome los dos palillos, corte una tira de hilo y átela un extremo a cada palillo. 

   Take two sticks, cut a long yarn strip and ties it to end of each stick.

2. Pegue los círculos al hilo y deje secar.

   Paste the circles in the yarn and let them dry.

Coloca la guirnalda en el pastel, yo a propósito use estas velitas largas, pero también puedes poner figuras o tan solo la guirnalda.

Put the garland on the cake, I put these tall candles on purpose, but you can also put some figures in the cake or just the garland.

Espero les haya parecido muy fácil y lo elaboren en su casa...

cloudy Sunday morning

Muy buenos días a todos, feliz lunes! primero quiero decirles que me alegra mucho que el post anterior les haya gustado tanto, debido a que era un post que hablaba de una de las bellezas de mi país Guatemala, recibí comentarios acerca de que algunos incluso quieren venir a conocerlo, yo amo mi Guatemala y todo lo que ella tiene, es un país hermoso. Y esto, lo compruebo ahora que tenemos un huésped misionero en casa, desde el sábado por la noche esta con nosotros y me alegra mucho conocerlo y conocer todas las diferentes palabras y costumbres, siempre es bueno conocer gente de afuera. 

Good good morning everyone, happy monday! first of all I want to tell you all I´m so glad that all of you liked so much the last post, because it talked about one of the beauties of my country Guatemala, I received comments about some of you even want to come to visit, I love my Guatemala and everything it has, is a beautiful country. And this, I check it now that we have a missionary host at home, he´s with us since saturday night   and I´m glad to meet him and to know about all the diferent words and manners, is always good to know people from outside.

Ayer por la mañana tuvimos una mañana nublada, creo que fue así para que todos los amigos de Estados Unidos que vienen de visita se aclimaten paulatinamente al clima guatemalteco, pero para nosotros era frió. Yo aprovecho los días nublados para crear capas, me encantan y favorecen a las petit. Esta vez, un top, por encima una blusa a rayas, encima un suéter de vuelos y para cerras una pañoleta que hacia una capa mas pero con mucho volumen. Definitivamente no soy una experta en moda, solo visto lo que me gusta y las capas es algo que me gusta mucho crear al vestir, se pueden crear de tantas maneras y con diversas prendas, incluso con vestidos, así que las animo a jugar con su closet =)

Yesterday we had a cloudy morning, I think it was for all of our Florida and Texas friends that are here to acclimate gradually to our weather, but for us was cold. I take cloudy days oportunities to create layers with my clothes, I love them and favors petit women like me. This time, a blouse below, over a striped blouse, over a sweater and a scarf to close the outfit that create a layer but add volume. I'm definitely not a fashion expert, I only wear what I like and layers is something I love to create with my clothes, layers can be created of many ways and with several clothes pieces, even with dresses, so I cheer you to play with your closet =)

Enjoy the little things (Antigua Guatemala)

Se que esta semana no he hecho mas que escribir acerca de Antigua Guatemala, pero que puedo decir?, me encanta! amo Antigua, quisiera vivir allí siempre... no hay nada que no me guste, me gusta en su totalidad, y soy tan dichosa de tenerla tan cerca. La Antigua Guatemala posee cosas despampanantes pero también tienen detalles pequeños que uno jamas olvida. Cada lugar para tomar café son rinconcitos pequeños pero llenos de historia, acogedores e inspiradores por que todos tienen detalles que los hacen únicos. Si paseas por las calles es lo mismo, no te aburres, no puedes dejar de tomar fotografías y de respirar tranquilidad. Por eso y por tantas cosas amo Antigua Guatemala...

I know this week I haven´t done more to write about Antigua Guatemala, but what can I say?, I love it! I love Antigua Guatemala, I would like to live there forever ... there is nothing I don´t like, I like everything, and I am so happy to have it so close. Antigua Guatemala has stunning things but also have small details that one never forgets. Every coffee place are nooks small but full of history. If you walk along the streets feels the same, you can´t get bored, you just can´t stop taking pictures and take breath peacefully. That´s why love so much Antigua Guatemala ...

El sábado como ya les conté estuve desde muy temprano en la ciudad antigüeña así que la idea de un chocolate calientito no era para nada mala, y que mejor que sentarme en la calle a disfrutarlo mientras sentía caer todo el frió pero a la vez cálido amanecer sobre mi.

On Saturday as I told you in other post I got early to Antigua Guatemala so the idea of a hot chocolate was not bad at all, and what better than to sit in the street to enjoy it, while it was falling the cold but warm morning on me.

No puedo sacar la cuenta de las tantas veces que he caminado la calle del Arco, pero si puedo sacar la cuenta de las veces que la he caminado con mi pequeña, y esta fue la primera vez que la caminamos juntas y solas...

I can´t take account of the many times I've walked the Arc streets, but I can get the count of the times I´ve walked it with my little girl, and this was the first time I walked alone together ...

Algo de lo que nadie se salva en esta ciudad es de comprarle algo a alguno de tantos vendedores ambulantes, esta vez fueron estas muy coloridas pulseras de hilo. Sugerencias para usarlas serán bienvenidas!

Y como les conté en otro post, escuchamos marimba alrededor de una hora, fue un hermoso tiempo en el que de verdad me deleite, tanto...

Ver caballos paseando en la Antigua Guatemala es de lo mas normal, es una ciudad colonial así que todo lo relacionado a pasear en caballo es totalmente valido... 

See horses walking in Antigua Guatemala is very normal, is a colonial city and everything related to horse ride in is totally valid.

Como verán, un paseo a la Antigua Guatemala jamas es aburrido, siempre me traigo muchas cosas pequeñas bien disfrutadas... Feliz fin de semana para todos!!!!

La mayoría de veces salgo a trabajar durante la mañana, pero en situaciones el trabajo es por la tarde, esta semana he estado llena de trabajo, pero ayer trabaje en la tarde así que tuve la oportunidad de ir a traer a mi hijita tranquilamente, ya que la mayoría de veces siento que no llegare a tiempo. Ayer era un día especial para ella, tomarían la foto escolar del año, así que estoy muy emocionada de recibir las fotografías la próxima semana, es su primera foto escolar. 

Most of times I go to work during the morning,  but sometimes I work in the afternoon, this week I´ve been full of work, but yesterday I worked in the afternoon so I had the opportunity to pick up my daughter serenely, because most of times I feel that I won´t make it. Yesterday was a special day for her, they would take the school photo of the year, so I'm very excited to receive the pictures next week, is her first school photograph.

Ayer hacia muchisimo calor, asi que los shorts me salvaron el día, esta delicada blusa de lunares, y en colores pastel es una de las pocas piezas en rosa que guardo en el closet, las cuñas que desde que todos votaron por usarlas cada vez me gustan mas, y un sock bunn es lo ideal para mantener el cabello no en tu rostro y cuello cuando hace calor. Los labios coral es lo que mas he me ha gustado que nos trajo esta esta primavera-verano.

Yesterday was very hot, so shorts saved the day, this delicate blouse with polka dots, and pastel color is one of the few pieces in pink that I keep in the closet, wedges that since everyone voted for wearing whenever I like more, and a sock bun is ideal to keep the hair not in your face and neck in hot weather. Coral lips is what I liked the most that spring-summer brought us this year.

My favorite jacket

Buenos días a todos!!!! 

Good morning to all!!

El lunes les dije que esta semana iba a mostrarles dos piezas que me gustan mucho, la primera fue mi nuevo blazer holgado, la segunda es esta, la chaqueta que use el domingo y que les muestro hoy, es mi favorita, esto fue un regalo que mi mama me hizo hace aproximadamente cuatro años (mucho), y sigue siendo mi favorita, lo es debido a que es del tamaño perfecto, Kenneth Cole y sus diseñadores un día se sentaron a pensar en crear una chaqueta para las pequeñitas como yo, y la hicieron, jajajaja! es una broma. Me encanta el diseño tanto por dentro como por fuera, cuello chino, bolsillos al frente, se ajusta a la silueta, yo doble esta vez las mangas pero son largas, el color me encanta, tienen un diseño a rayas que me gusta. La he usado combinada tanto con colores oscuros como claros y siempre se ve bien. 

On Monday I told you that this week would show two pieces that I like, the first one was my new  loose blazer, the second is this one, the jacket I wore on Sunday and I'm showing you today, is my favorite, This was a gift that my mom made ​​me about four years ago (a lot), y it´s still my mi favorite, it is because it´s the perfect size, Kenneth Cole and his designers one day sat down to think about creating a jacket for tiny girls  like me, and they did, LOL! is a joke. I love the design, inside and out, front pockets, conforms to the shape,  I double  the sleeves this time but are long, I love the color, and have a striped pattern that I like. I've used it combined with light and dark colors as always looks good.

Esta no es la única prenda que tengo Kenneth Cole, también tengo un abrigo que pueden ver dando click aquí, no toda la ropa que diseñan es pequeña pero si vale la pena dar una vuelta de vez en cuando por si hay algo que pueda servir. Cuando tenemos el problema de que no todo nos queda o nos ajusta debemos inclinarnos siempre por piezas clásicas, o mejor dicho que no fácilmente pasen de moda, aunque la verdad no creo mucho en la moda, mas bien que sean piezas que nos ayudaran a combinar todo lo que ya tenemos siempre, y no algo que solo se va a usar un par de meses y tu tiempo y dinero invertido buscándola no valdrá la pena. En ese sentido estas piezas que les he mostrado cumplen con esos requisitos, son neutras y les puedo sacar muchos usos de los que se imaginan.   

This is not the only  Kenneth Cole piece I have,  I also have a coat that can be viewed by clicking here, not all clothing is designed petit but worth a ride some time in case they have something that can be useful. When we have the problem that not everything fits us, we must always search more classical pieces, or rather that do not easily go out of fashion, although i don´t believe  in fashion, rather they are pieces that will help us to combine everything we have always in the closet, and not something that will be used only a couple of months and your time and money invested searching will not be worth. In that sense these pieces I have showed you meet these requirements, are neutral and I can get many uses of those you can imagine.

Crepes

Esta no es la primera vez ni sera la ultima que escribo y escribiré acerca de las crepes de este restaurante que cada vez encuentro mas ideal en la ciudad de Antigua Guatemala, Luna de Miel. Han cambiado de locación y la nueva es mas amplia, fresca, cómoda y moderna, pero siempre guardando su especialidad, el sabor único de las crepes originales francesas. He notado esta vez, que todas las crepes saladas son preparadas con una masa integral, y las dulces en masa original o normal, mas bien no integral.

This is not the first nor the last I´ll write about the crepes of this restaurant that every time I find more ideal in the city of Antigua Guatemala, Honeymoon. They´ve changed of location and the new one is more extensive,  fresh, modern and comfortable, but always keeping it specialty, the unique flavor of the original french crepes.

Con dueños franceses estas crepes garantizan que siempre mantendrán su sabor y originalidad. Siempre me gusta probar la variedad, pero esta vez he vuelto a repetir la Luna Nueva, la mezcla de pollo y pesto es exquisita, ya les he dicho que el pesto me encanta. Nos dimos el gusto de probar la Luna Dorada, preparada con carne y cebollas caramelizadas, deliciosa! y la Luna Chapina, esto es un hit en el paladar de los guatemaltecos, estamos acostumbrados a estos ingredientes con la que la preparan, queso, aguacate y tomates cocidos, es estupenda! Y nunca podrá faltar la crepe de nutella, esa siempre nos acompaña a la mesa.  

With french owners is more than guarantee that these crepes will always maintain their flavor and originality. I always like to try the variety, but this time I´ve asked again a new moon, chicken mixture and pesto is delicious, I told you that I love pesto. We indulged test the Golden Moon, prepared with meat and caramelized onions, delicious! and Chapina Moon, this is a hit for the mouth of Guatemalans, We are use to these ingredients with which it´s prepared, cheese, avocado and cooked tomatoes, is great! And you can never miss the nutella crepe, that crêpe is always with us at the table.

Aquí les dejo estas preciosas fotos con las que me tope el sábado en Antigua, hermosas, cálidas, llenas de buena presencia... Las fotografías que mas me gustan son las de bebes y niños. La sonrisa y expresiones de un niño, nos dicen e inyectan de tanta ingenuidad, la ingenuidad que tanto necesitamos para vivir mas plenos.

I share with you these beautiful pictures I saw on Saturday in Antigua, beautiful, warm, full of good presence... The photographs that I like the most are those of babies and children. The smile and expressions of a child, tells us and inject so much ingenuity, ingenuity we all need to live more fully.

gray blazer

Como les contaba el sábado, pase un gran día en Antigua Guatemala, mi esposo tenia una reunión de trabajo y mientras tanto mi pequeñita y yo fuimos a caminar por la ciudad. Llegamos muy temprano, la ciudad estaba vacía, teníamos la calle del Arco para nosotras, y en si todos los lugares para nosotras, podíamos caminar sin preocuparnos por nada, no había bullicio, era ideal, visite varias tiendas de ropa muy buenas, que no conocía, lastimosamente no había nada tamaño petit... Disfrute de música de marimba, mi abuelo escuchaba siempre marimba, así que cuando escucho marimba en vivo es como transportarme a mi niñez y verme bailando sobre sus pies mientras me guiaba, mi abuelo me dejo tan bellos y hermosos recuerdos.

As I told you on Saturday, I spend a great day in Antigua Guatemala, my husband had a business meeting and meanwhile my little girl and I were walking around the city. We arrived very early, the city was empty, we had the Arch Street for us only, we could walk without worrying about anything, there was no noise, was ideal, I visit several good clothes stores, that I didn´t know, unfortunately there was nothing petit size... We enjoy marimba music, my grandfather always listened marimba, so when I hear marimba live is like transport myself to my childhood and see me dancing on his feets as he guided me, my grandfather left me beautiful and wonderful memories.

Esta semana les mostrare un par de piezas que me gustan, en esta ocasión este blazer, de una tela en extremo delicada, suave y fresca, holgado y con bolsillos, ideal para usar con todo, yo los he usado por vez primera con estos shorts, pero lo he comprado porque viste bien con ropa formal para ir a la oficina o muy casual como esto, la linea de ropa de Lauren Conrad siempre es de mi agrado, es acorde a lo que me gusta usar y me queda, esto ultimo le da un punto para que yo sea una fan mas de esta marca. No tengo muchas cosas de su linea pero este blazer y el vestido que tengo ademas de ser bonitos me quedan bien. 

This week I´ll show you a couple of pieces I like, the first is this blazer, extremely delicate fabric, soft and fresh, ideal for use with everything, I´ve used it for the first time with these shorts, but I bought it because it dress well in formal clothes to go to the office or too casual like this, I always like Lauren Conrad clothing line, is consistent with what I like to wear and it fit me. I don´t have many things of her line but the blazer and the dress I have besides being pretty fit me.

La Antigua estuvo hermosa, almorzamos juntos y pasamos un hermoso momento con mi pequeñita, no ha sido necesario esperar tanto para que sea una adolescente y que me acompañe a visitar tiendas, desde ya me dice su opinión y que le gusta o no que use mama, como ella dice: "nosotras somos amigas".

Antigua was beautiful, we had lunch together and I had a lovely time with my little girl, it wasn´t necessary to wait that long for her to be a teenager so she could join me to visit clothes stores, she already tells me her opinion about what she likes me to wear, is just as she said: "we´re girl friends."

Enjoy the little things

Hola a todos, como tienen planificado su fn de semana? espero que con mucho descanso y mucho relax. Yo estoy muy contenta de poder estar en camino a Antigua Guatemala, es mi ciudad favorita, caminar, el paisaje, la rica comida, cuando mi esposo me lo propuso rápidamente accedí, el sabe cuanto me gusta ir allá.

Hi everybody, have you planned your weekend? I hope you include much rest and relax. I´m very happy to be on my way to Antigua Guatemala, is my favorite city, walk, the scenery, delicious food, when my husband suggested I quickly agreed, he knows how much I love going there.

Esta semana fue agitada y ocupada pero en medio de ella tuve muchos momentos especiales, mi hijita estaba  enferma y al fin una doctora pudo dar un diagnostico y una medicina extraordinaria, ahora esta muy bien y yo muy tranquila, es horrible cuando los hijos están enfermos, y se siente tanta paz cuando se recuperan. Aquí les dejo una foto hermosa de mi pequeñita y mi esposo, como les dije en el post del jueves ellos estuvieron jugando por todo el campo y dando vueltas, ellos son lo mas maravilloso que palpo día a día...

This week was hectic and busy but in it I had many special moments, my daughter was sick and finally a doctor could give a diagnosis and an extraordinary medicine, now she´s very well and I very quiet, it's horrible when children are sick, and feel such peace when retrieved. Here is a beautiful photo of my little girl and my husband, as I said in the on thursday post they were playing all over the field and turning, they are the most wonderful thing I touch every day ...

Las escapaditas de fin de semana, momentos que atesoro y que comparto con mi mejor amigo, mi esposo, esta vez disfrutamos de una comida la cual empezamos con un delicioso fondue, nada mejor que un buen quesito, mmmm, en la mejor de las compañías.

The weekend getaways, moments that I treasure and I share with my best friend, my husband, this time enjoyed a meal that started with a delicious fondue, nothing better than a good cheese, mmmm, with the best company.

Y mi adquisición de el día jueves, esta revista trae recetas de cocina que abren en serio el apetito, yo la compre porque trae varias recetas de diferentes tipos de pesto, hace tiempo quiero hacer otro tipo de pesto del que hago, yo preparo el tradicional, y esta edición de vanidades trae varias recetas para comer diferente, si alguien quiere compartirme otras recetas de pesto, son bienvenidas!

And my purchase on Thursday, this magazine provides recipes that seriously open appetite, I bought it because it brings several recipes for different types of pesto, while ago I wanted to do other recipe of pesto, I make the traditional, and this edition of Vanitys brings several different recipes to eat it, if anyone wants to share me other pesto recipes, all are welcome!

Y por ultimo, este nuevo vídeo, de Nelly Furtado, ella siempre me ha gustado como canta, desde que se inicio, su voz, es diferente, tiene algunas letras que en serio me tocan, y esta es una de ellas, para una mujer como yo, que se considera cristiana, es muy importante mantener un espíritu fuerte y una mente equilibrada en la fe, me encanta escuchar el coro que dice que poseo un espíritu indestructible, un corazón que fue hecho para amar y un cuerpo que es un milagro, es cierto, mientras mi relación con Dios es mas cercana mas indestructible es mi espíritu, mas siento amor en mi corazón y mas comprendo que mi cuerpo y toda mi existencia son un enorme milagro, así que los dejo con esta excelente canción con un excelente vídeo, es mi canción de fin de semana, para ustedes.
